While the weather has been cold and bleak lately here in New England - perfect for bowls of steaming soup - warmer weather is in the forecast.  If you start feeling luke-warm about eating hot soups at this time of year, you're not alone.  But, don't give up on soups altogether at this time of year - there are a multitude of warm weather soups to try, and I've scoured the web to find some of the best recipes!

My husband and I enjoy both day and weekend trips to Maine and are always on the hunt for great new spots to enjoy a bite to eat. We were thrilled to discover Johnny’s Bistro and Bar on route 1 in Falmouth this past weekend. We didn’t know what we were looking for, but Johnny’s was it – elegant food in a casual and friendly atmosphere.

This is the perfect time of year to head to the Black Cow in Newburyport , MA – the crowds are minimal, but the views of the river are still breath-taking!  I enjoyed a quiet evening  there with my husband recently; we started with some stellar soups.

The Powow River Grille in Amesbury, MA, might be best known for their fresh seafood, or perhaps for their fabulous martinis.  But it was the soup special that was the real standout on my last visit!
